Terms of
Service.
Last Updated: June 4, 2026
These Terms explain what you can expect from Hollout, what we expect from you, and where our responsibilities begin and end. If you use the app, these are the rules that apply.
01 Using Hollout
By creating an account or using Hollout, you are agreeing to:
- Follow these Terms and the laws that apply to you
- Also follow our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer & Liability, Community Guidelines, and Child Safety Standards
- Use the service only if you are legally allowed to do so in your jurisdiction
- Use Hollout only if you are at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate and up-to-date account information
- Understand that Hollout offers location-based discovery, messaging, groups, events, workout requests, business listings, reviews, and related community features
- Understand that Hollout does not handle payments, fulfill orders, or act as a party to off-platform transactions
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.
02 Your Account
2.1 Creating an Account
- Sign in through one of our supported providers, currently Google or Apple
- Create a unique account with accurate information
- Provide your real birth date so we can enforce the 18+ eligibility rule
- Maintain one account per person
- Avoid impersonating others, creating false identities, or trying to get around device or abuse limits
2.2 Keeping Your Account Secure
You are responsible for what happens through your account, connected provider account, devices, backup codes, and sign-in details. Please keep them secure and tell us right away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
Account Types
- Free accounts, which may include ad-supported experiences
- Paid Pro plans with broader discovery, higher limits, and other added tools
- Business plans for commercial profiles and multi-business features
03 Content & Conduct
3.1 Using the App Responsibly
Please do not use Hollout to:
- Post illegal, harmful, threatening, or obscene content
- Share sexualized content involving minors, exploitative content, or non-consensual intimate images
- Run scams, misleading offers, or attempts to move people off-platform to dodge safety systems
- Spam, manipulate, or misuse groups, events, workout requests, reviews, or verification tools
- Upload viruses, malware, or malicious code
- Scrape, harvest, or collect user data
- Discriminate against, impersonate, harass, or threaten other users
3.2 Your Content
What you share, including your business updates, still belongs to you. But by sharing it, you give us permission to host, show, adapt, moderate, and distribute it as needed to run, protect, and improve the service. We may remove or limit content that breaks these Terms or creates a safety risk.
If you upload or send photos, videos, files, voice notes, or similar media, you are responsible for having the rights and consent needed to share it. Do not upload private, intimate, illegal, or exploitative content.
3.3 Safety Nudges
Hollout may show private safety nudges in chat, including Chat Safety, to help you slow down around possible scams, pressure, unsafe meetups, or similar risks. These nudges are informational, can be disabled where the app provides controls, and do not replace your judgment, emergency services, law enforcement, or professional advice. You are still responsible for what you share, who you meet, and any off-platform decisions you make.
3.4 Calls and Real-Time Features
Voice and video calls are optional communication tools. If you use them, your device may ask for microphone or camera permission, and real-time communication providers may process call connection data and live audio or video streams while the call is active. Hollout is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee that another person will answer or behave safely on a call.
04 Privacy
A few of the most important privacy basics are:
- We may start with rough location from your IP address and use precise location only if you give permission
- Google or Apple may manage your sign-in credentials, while Hollout manages your sessions, device access, and related security checks
- When you interact with businesses, your business-facing profile may appear instead of your usual social profile
- Viewing another person's profile does not send that person a notification or alert
- Hollout does not offer unrestricted people search by name. People may appear through discovery and, where search applies, through profession or discovery keywords they choose to use
- If a region does not have enough nearby people yet, Hollout may temporarily show a small number of visible profiles from farther away so discovery remains useful
- Your visible profile may occasionally appear in that farther-away fallback unless you turn off Connections from far away in Privacy settings
- We keep things like views, reviews, reports, moderation signals, event pass checks, reminder settings, and notification tokens to run the service
- We use service providers for sign-in, hosting, messaging, notifications, subscriptions, ads, calls, storage, safety review, and support
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data
06 Advertising
Some parts of Hollout may include ads or promotions, especially on free plans.
- Free users may see in-app ads, sponsored placements, or promotional surfaces
- Some features may offer rewarded ads for temporary access or promotional benefits where supported
- The farther-away discovery fallback may offer a rewarded ad that reveals people from around the world for 5 minutes without requiring a paid location-search feature
- On eligible free plans, incoming one-to-one connection requests may require a short rewarded video ad before the request is unlocked and the sender is revealed
- If two people independently send connection requests to each other, the connection may open without the rewarded ad flow
- Ad partners are responsible for their own offers, products, and claims
- Ad partners may process advertising identifiers and limited app or device data as explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy
- Different plans or features may have different ad experiences
07 Our Platform
Hollout, its branding, interface, code, and platform materials belong to Hollout or its licensors. As long as you follow these Terms, we give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose.
- Do not copy, reverse engineer, resell, or create unauthorized derivative works from the platform
- Do not use Hollout branding or assets without prior written permission
08 Important Limits
8.1 What Hollout Is and Is Not
Hollout helps people discover and connect. It does not step into the middle of an off-platform deal. That means we do not:
- Process or handle financial transactions
- Act as an intermediary for commercial deals
- Offer escrow or buyer/seller protection
- Guarantee business quality or performance
If you choose to pay, book, meet, travel, or make a deal off-platform, that choice is between you and the other party.
8.2 Verification & Badges
Badges can be helpful, but they are not guarantees. They reflect a review of information or materials at a point in time. They do not:
- Guarantee competence or trustworthiness
- Constitute an endorsement or recommendation
- Guarantee identity, licensing, legality, pricing, safety, or service quality
8.3 Liability Limits
To the extent allowed by law, Hollout is not responsible for financial losses from off-platform transactions, fraud by other users, or unauthorized access to your account. If we are ever found liable, our total liability will not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
09 Dispute Resolution
Before filing a formal claim, you agree to first try to resolve the issue with us informally. If that does not work, disputes will be handled under the laws, forum, arbitration rules, or consumer-protection rules that apply to the service, the company operating Hollout, and the user involved.
