This page explains the small bits of browser or device storage Hollout uses to keep the service working, remember your settings, and support ads on some free experiences. Where the law requires it, we ask for the right permission before using non-essential tracking tools.
01 Cookies and Similar Tools
On the web, cookies are small files stored by your browser. In our apps, we may use similar tools that do the same kind of job. On this page, when we say "cookies," we mean things like:
- Mobile device identifiers
- Local storage on your device or browser
- Software development kits (SDKs)
- Web cookies and similar browser storage
02 Why We Use Them
We use these tools for a few straightforward reasons:
- Authentication: To keep you signed in
- Preferences: To remember settings like themes or other choices you make
- Security: To detect suspicious activity and help protect your account
- Reliability: To keep the app stable and remember necessary local state
- Advertising: To support or measure ads on some free-tier experiences
03 The Main Types We Use
Essential
These are needed for core parts of Hollout to work, including sign-in, security, session handling, and basic service state.
Preferences & Performance
These help the app remember your settings, device preferences, and other choices so your experience feels more consistent.
Advertising
These may be used on supported free-tier surfaces to show ads, control how often they appear, or measure basic ad performance. This can include advertising identifiers, app/device signals, and ad events processed by Google Mobile Ads or similar ad partners. Different plans or features may have different ad experiences.
04 Your Choices
Mobile Devices
Use your device privacy, advertising, or app-permission settings to limit identifiers, reset ad IDs, or clear stored app data.
Web Browser
Use your browser settings to clear cookies, block third-party trackers, or create exceptions for Hollout if you want.
Important: if you block essential cookies or storage tools, some parts of Hollout may stop working properly.
05 How Long They Last
How long these tools stay on your device depends on what they are being used for and where they are being used:
- Session and sign-in items may last only for your current session or until they expire
- Preference and local storage items may stay until you clear them, sign out, reinstall the app, or they are replaced
- Advertising identifiers and related storage follow the controls provided by your device, browser, or the relevant SDK
